Let's Do This Together

White Women Working Together is a virtual space for white women as well as white people who are often perceived to be/read as women, such as gender non-conforming, nonbinary, and other gender fluid folks. We gather in this space to build community and work through the ways we experience and perpetuate racism. Tema Okun's White Supremacy Culture and Sylvia Walby's Theorising Patriarchy serve as starting points for our discussion, and both texts will be emailed to you after registration.

This group meets via Zoom on the third Tuesday of each month, 3:30pm-5:00pm Pacific time, and your registration confirmation email will include a link to access the meeting.

Your presence is important! You will be asked to confirm your attendance the day of the session in order to make sure we have enough folks for a fruitful conversation. Any session with fewer than 3 participants will be canceled.

Note: the description for this group and who it is for has been tweaked in response to thoughtful conversations with trans and nonbinary folks, recognizing that relationships are a two-way street and everyone has personal agency in deciding what community they wish to spend their time and energy building and participating in. Judy, a cis woman, strives for inclusivity while acknowledging her limitations with regard to lived experience.

Judy Blair

Judy is a white woman doing transformational racial equity work in Seattle, specializing in antiracism coaching, caucusing, and equity change team guidance. Her approach is extremely relational, focusing on helping people find their own power and figure out concrete responses to the racial oppression they see or experience every day. She has spent the past decade thinking deeply about how white folks can use their social position to dismantle racist systems and what it means to be a white person doing antiracism work.
